Growing vocabulary

Cloosty has been saying a few new words in addition to "Ma ma ma," "Da da da," "Me me me," "Baby," and "Kittykittykitty." They are:

Uh oh!
Juice - not too articulate on that yet
Stick - he learned that one yesterday
Up
Moon
Eye - can point to them
Ear - can point to those, too
Ow or ouch

What's been going on?

Hmmm, I just realized (well, a while ago, actually) that I haven't posted anything about Christmas. *sigh* So I guess I will... and other things as well. A quick synopsis, you could say.

- Christmas: Cloosty's second Xmas. He still isn't aware of who Santa is. He's just glad that there were new toys to play with. And he loves opening presents. He would say "Eh, eh, eh," or "Me, me, me," in order to help him. He got a lot of new groovy things from Santa, us, the family and friends. Whoever gave him the LeapFrog fridge DJ, he LOVES it! Thanks! :D

- New School: Cloosty's teachers tell me that he does great every day. I'm not quite sure what all he's doing (I do know that he likes to scoop noodles from one side of a double sided bowl to another), but he loves it there. Of course, he pitches a big fit when I drop him off, but that's for my benefit. He's showing me that he loves me. :) He didn't put up too much of a fit this morning.

- Sick: Cloosty's been sick the early part of this week with a double ear infection, ouch! Poor baby. I've been rocking him to sleep because it feels better on his ears when sitting up and now he wants to be rocked back to sleep when he wakes up in the middle of the night. And it has to be ME. If Daddy goes in there, Cloosty throws a HUGE fit. Dammit. Gotta get that sleep pattern back to normal.

- My little shadow: He is now my shadow. He doesn't want anyone else. Sweet, but gets old, too.

I'll post some new pictures as soon as I can.

18 months!

Wow! Cloosty is 18 months old! He has stepped over the threshold of babyhood into the world of toddlers. And with that step, he has left daycare for Montessori school! Today is his first day - and I didn't cry (yet). Sarah was very excited for him, wanting to "teach" him what to do in his class. However, we decided that it would be better (and easier on us) if she went to her class first. She wasn't happy about that, but was easily distracted by telling her teacher what Santa brought her.

We didn't know how he was going to react to being in a new place with new people. I was hoping he would be just as excited and interested in it as he is when he wanders around Sarah's class in the afternoon when we pick her up. As soon as we walked in he spotted 2 boys sitting at the snack table. Cloosty began reaching for their food and the teacher's aide set him a place, put some of his snack on it and he sat down while goat-laughing wildly. ;) I think he'll be fine.

As for 18 month stats:

Height - 31 inches
Weight - 22# 3.5oz.
HC - 18.25 inches
