What's new in Christopher's world?

We have a winner!

Yippee! The first of many teeth has finally cut its way to outer space!

It's just barely peeking up from his gums, but it's there. You can feel it if he'll let you. He's been rubbing his tongue on it to get used to it. I bet he's worn a nice little blister on the underside, too.

I hope its neighbor shows itself soon.

Teething

The Rooster is teething - big time! You can see those little suckers through his gums and he's not liking it one bit. Poor bubby. :(

He constantly drools, chews on his fingers or whatever he can get in his mouth before I take it away, he's grumpy, and has all the nasty side effects that normally come from this stage in life. He won't let me put Oragel in his mouth - ppppphppptpttt! Blech! I don't like it, Mommy! And he just doesn't feel good at all. :(

On a side note, he was told "No!" for the first time this weekend. The changing table is in front of the windows in his room and he likes to reeeeeaaaaach over and grab them while I'm trying to change his diaper. I finally got fed up with it and told him, "No!" He gave me a gummy smile. Then he realized that I wasn't going to smile back at him, stuck out his lip and started to cry! :(

OMG! What had I done? It was so sad! Big fat tears and everything! I quickly comforted him (I'm a sucker, I know) and all was well. But the subsequent times he has reached for the blinds and I've told him "No!" he'll stop... at least for 5 seconds. ;)

8 months old!

Another month has passed. My baby boy is growing so fast!

Things he's doing:

Feeding himself - finger foods
Follwing me everywhere - he's a fast crawler!
Pincer grasp - ouch!
Has Mommy separation issues - wah! Mommy don't leave me!
Still not sleeping all night every night. :(

He goes to the doctor for his check up next week. I'll post his stats then.

*** Update***

Here are his current stats:

Height: 26.5 inches
Weight: 17lbs .05 ounces
HC: 17.5 inches (I think that's right)

Doctor says he's the perfect baby. That's really nice to hear. :D
