Anarchist

For Halloween, Christopher dressed as a punk rocker. Unfortunately, his car seat smooshed his mohawk down, but he looked cute..err, I mean like the anarchist he is. And he decided to get into character, too. Here he is, stickin' it to da man!

Hehehe. More pictures to come.

Sleep in your own bed

Christopher decided he wanted to sleep in his own bed last night! Sarah did the same thing when she was about this age (15 weeks) so I'm really not that surprised.

He was snoozing away in our bed as usual when around 11:30 he began to stir. Naturally, I thought he was hungry so I tried to nurse him. He wasn't having any of that! He began crying - such a cruel mommy! I don't want food! Wah!

Huh?

I picked him up and took him to his room. I thought he might still be asleep and just having a bad dream. He seemed a little more alert and settled down, but still didn't want to eat. I rocked him for a bit and took him back to our room.

WAAAAHHHHHH!

Picked him up again. Back to his room. Settled down. Hmmm. So I put him in his crib. Pacifier - check. Blankie - check. Sleeping baby - check. He was out like a light. He wasn't dressed as warmly as I would have liked (he has our body heat normally so I don't bundle him up), but I didn't want to wake him to change his clothes. Plus, I had painted the spot behind the bookshelf earlier that day and I didn't want to turn off the ceiling fan lest the fumes overwhelm him. So I turned the fan to low, made sure the blanket covered him well and left the door open. Then I went back to bed. Pete snuggled up to me immediately and we sacked out.

At 4:00 Chrisopher stirred again. I went to get him and discovered he was cold. I plopped him in our bed to eat and get warm. He fell asleep again, but was restless. I think it is time to move to his bed on a permanent basis. And tonight I'll dress him in feet jammies. :)

Mmmm, rice cereal

Baby boy's been sucking on his bottom lip for a few days, and that usually means that a baby's ready for food. So I got Christopher to try some yummy rice cereal yesterday. I mixed it up with some breast milk, made it pretty runny and got the littlest baby spoon we had. He was chillin' in his car seat. I put some in his mouth and he smacked away with a thoughful look on his face: "Hmmm, what is this? It tastes like rice and fruit."

Smack, smack.

He doesn't quite have the swallowing thing down yet so he spit most of it out, but I don't think he was against it. I'll put some in a bottle tonight and see what happens.

3 month check-up

Christopher had his 3 month check-up today. No shots! Hooray!

He weighs 11lbs. 14oz., is 23" long and his head circumfrence is 15".

Things he's doing: rolling over from front to back like a pro, "talking," laughing, drooling (omg, the drool! what's up with that?), and having a good ole time.

He loves to have conversations and hates to be left alone. The cutest thing he does is stick his lower lip out when he meets someone for the first time or if he hasn't seen you for a while. Then he'll give you this huge gummy smile. I'll try to get a picture of that.
