Teething

The Rooster is teething - big time! You can see those little suckers through his gums and he's not liking it one bit. Poor bubby. :(

He constantly drools, chews on his fingers or whatever he can get in his mouth before I take it away, he's grumpy, and has all the nasty side effects that normally come from this stage in life. He won't let me put Oragel in his mouth - ppppphppptpttt! Blech! I don't like it, Mommy! And he just doesn't feel good at all. :(

On a side note, he was told "No!" for the first time this weekend. The changing table is in front of the windows in his room and he likes to reeeeeaaaaach over and grab them while I'm trying to change his diaper. I finally got fed up with it and told him, "No!" He gave me a gummy smile. Then he realized that I wasn't going to smile back at him, stuck out his lip and started to cry! :(

OMG! What had I done? It was so sad! Big fat tears and everything! I quickly comforted him (I'm a sucker, I know) and all was well. But the subsequent times he has reached for the blinds and I've told him "No!" he'll stop... at least for 5 seconds. ;)

You're not a sucker. Saying NO to a teeny tiny baby is MUCH MUCH harder than a 2-year old (or older, I guess). I think it's something about feeling guilty cause they don't understand what's going on - older kids do.

Isn't it, though? Yeah, I don't feel nearly as guilty tell big sister that. Boy, now that makes me feel guilty. Hehe.

Reminds me of the time when Sarah was a little over a year old and was acting up at the dinner table. We both told her "No!" and she gave us this horrible look, bowed her head into her hands and just sobbed! Thus, the Drama Queen was born. ;)
