Strep Throat
This past weekend Sarah developed Strep Throat. From Thursday night to Sunday night she was miserable. I don't think I've ever felt so helpless when it comes to making her feel better. :(

Two little monkeys
Sunday we went to the zoo with Lauren and her mommy, my friend Steph. The girls were like peas in a pod. First we went to the petting zoo to see Lauren's pig. Then we saw the sea lions get fed, hung out with the lorikeets, growled at some alligators, rode the train, ate lunch and then the real fun began - water fountains!

I tell ya, those two girls ran around and around and around dodging as much water as they could. But Steph and I managed to splash them a few times. I thought for sure Sarah would sack out on the way home, but she found the rest of her potato chips and munched on those in the car. I was so tired when we go home, I layed down on my bed soon to be joined by my precious little one. She snuggled right up and zonked out. We had a really great time - need to do that more often. :) Maybe next time we'll actually see more animals.

Back off, blood suckers!
Sarah is very protective of me. :)

Yesterday, while driving home, there was a mosquito in the car with us. Each time it would buzz near me, Sarah would shout "That's MY mommy, skeeto! You go away!"

The Great Sarah-tini!
While Daddy and Uncle Gavin where starting to build the deck, Sarah and I would watch them from the porch. One day, she backed herself into the doorway, threw her arms out and shouted "Welcome to my show!" She then picked up a long twist-tie (her "magic") and said "Tada!" I oohed and aahed as she handed me... whatever she had magicked - could be a baby frog or tiny kittens.

She's also very good with magic napkins. Carefully draping what you think to be an ordinary napkin over a cup of juice, she waves her arms about, says the magic words and "Tada!" It is now... well, still a cup of juice, but now it's for Mommy!

Family Vacation
Last week we finally got to have a long vacation away from home. For the first half of the week we went to Mentone to spend time with Honey, Grandad and Greg - oh, and Cutter the dog, too. Sarah had a blast throwing the ball to Cutter and chasing him around the house. She, Daddy and I walked down to the falls to see the BIG WATERFALL and then over to the Nippersink and back to the cabin. Honey made all my favorite foods - mmmm, yummy!

For the second half of the trip, we drove to Athens, GA to visit Susan, Dennis, Andy & Charlie. Again, Sarah had the time of her life. She wore her cousin Charlie out! We swam, blew bubbles, played the guitar, sorted marbles and ate lots of good food. For days she's been asking where Charlie is. He will have to visit us soon.
